I want to install 10.5.5. I downloaded the dlc file, but it seems that half of the files (20-45) cannot be found anymore.
Any idea, where to get the remaining files?

I can't find any errors. The files are online and I can download them.
Try the direct link, they should work: RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting.
As it turns out, it's a cookie problem. I deleted my cookies and restarted jdownloader, and restarted the downloads.
Thanks ash!
Hi, ive got Jon's 10.5.8 working on my ATV no probs, apart from sound of course! Was wondering if any has a 10.5.5 image with working sound that would be bootable from a fresh hardrive, cant seem to get ATV to boot from media part from internal HD, sumthing ive missed i no, prob been over it on this site about 10 times!
Look at the first post of this thread and you will get what you want ;-)
Hey ash, long time haha.
What OS did you use to install Snow Leopard to the ATV? (Leopard or Snow Leopard). I tried as well too a few months back and I got it to boot ONCE albeit it hang on the log on screen but I did successfully boot snow leopard. After that attempt I tried again and ran into your issue of the kernel panic. I thought it could be just blessing it in snow was the issue and since I don't feel like downloading Leopard again I haven't tried blessing it from a 10.5 machine to see if it would work
I used a normal SL DVD that was bundled with my mac but I didn't manage to boot the installation with the ATV.
My ATV didn't even begin to boot - it seemed that the ATV EFI couldn't load the boot.efi file and therefore nothing happened.
What was the kernel panic about? Maybe it was caused by a bad kext and you can simply remove it.
To bless the installation you can also use your normal ATV OSX 10.4.
Btw, I don't think that I will put into any more effort to get mac os 10.5/10.6 on the ATV as imho it is a "dead" device. Though I certainly will continue to use it as a media player for SDTV movie files, to watch pictures and to play ROMs.
Hi Ash,
I finally got 10.5.5 installed after the atv hard-drive give up the ghost on me. I installed an 80gig drive. I have two questions.
1. When I installed 10.5.8 and hit restart, it would boot back into AppleTV. Now when I restart with 10.5.5, it just hangs and does not go back into AppleTV. Any idea why that is?
2. AppleTV only sees 40 gigs and not the full 80. I did rebuild the hard-drive with smallatv osx. How can I get it to recognize the full 80gigs?
Thanks!
Try to re-bless the original ATV partition to make it bootable again.
I can't help you with the second question, as I don't have any experience with non-standard-sized ATV drives - sorry.
Has anyone tried using the Elgato turbo 264 hd with their OS-X'd AppleTV? I am thinking of giving it a try. It seems like a good match for video encoding; since the turbo 264 does all the hard CPU work.
