Don't Give Up! There is still more to do!
Let me first start this by saying a huge thank you to Semthex, DxQ, arood, Diabolik, and the rest oh those who have helped make OSX on Atv a reality. Uguyz ar3 teh Rokz0rz.
We are only about half way to makin Atv a full fledged computer (which is the point of all of this right?). I know if you guys are bright enough to crack a CPU kernel in less then 24 hours, cracking the volume problem with the RCA audio outputs should be a walk in the park. And where is front row and my apple remote support? How do all of these guys on youtube boot their Atv with HDMI, yet I haven't seen one sucess story with hdmi first hand. The beauty of modding something is a polished finshed product. Looks like were about half way there.
this is not a bitch and moan fest. This is just a challenge to those of you who have made this a reality so far to follow through and knock this thing out of the park. I think it would send a message to apple that a low budget, highly capible mac has a place in the market, and if they dont provide one, well.. we can just make our own.
So since I am not a programmer, or a genius, I will now sink back in my armchair of politics, and wait for the rest of you to solve my problem. It's the least I can do. But do know that completing this task will certainly land you in the ub3r g33k hall of FAME, and forever you could have the respect of those like my self, unable to do these amazing things with terminal (that I can't even spell correctly).
Any one else have anything they would like to see? How about a usb hub, powered by Atv? how about a tested PVR function (all you eyetv hobbiests, im looking at you)? what about case modds? ram upgrades? Widescreen graphics? A hole on the top to polish your hotdog for you? name it Mac geeks... How far can we take ATV from being the ipod of tvs?
