AppleTV vs. WD 2TB HDD Issues.

I have my appleTV with boxee working perfectly.

I have a 2TB WD external hard disk.

For some odd reason, my appletv won't detect my hard disk. I read it was due to the smart ware program, so I deleted that using the WD software download and upgraded to the most recent WD Essential Firmware.

When I connect my hard disk to my macbook, it takes it a few seconds, and then I can see the My Book volume. But when I connect it to the AppleTV, nothing happens...

Anyone have any idea what I can do?

I tried manually searching for the volume inside boxee, and in the Places option under the Files menu, but still no luck.

Have you tried blanking the drive and redoing the partition table? I've had a few USB drives, most pendrives but some larger external HDDs, that, like yours, came with S/W on a hidden/embedded partition. Following the instructions here and modifying them as necessary solved it, including with the larger HDDs.
