[AppleTV] How will apple updates affect the hacking ?

I read with great interest the hacks for apple TV most importantly the ones that would allow me to play my divx movies stored on my pc or NAS. I have been long looking for a good device to bring menu driven abilities to my TV. XBMC was good, but almost too many features and screens to be family friendly. Apple TV would be good and their new movie rental service looks like a winner too.

My question is how will the new apple software update affect any hacks that I might perform? Will apple break these hacks or will they continue to work? Kind of want to know before I put down 230 bucks.

Count on it.

However, if you get one NOW without the Take2 update installed, you can make it so that the box will never automatically update its self...

Or do I wait until the update is out and the hack guys have created/recreated the hacks? Either way, I think it will always be hacked, and I think I would want the hacks post update to take advantage of the features.
