Apple TV or Mac Mini
I need some guidance here. My HD just crashed and I need a way to back it up. My first option would be to get a Mac Mini for this purpose. My needs are as follows:
-At least 160 GB HD
-Ability to backup using Time Machine
-Be able to watch downloaded tv shows and movies
-Connect to the device using Apple Remote Desktop
-Connect to my plasma tv and use frontrow playing the most popular file formats
I know this would be no problem if buying a Mac Mini, but could it be done with Apple TV without too much hacking. Guess it would be cheaper.
Grateful for any suggestions.
I thinjk @tv does not share to same goal as apple mini except if you want to install osx on atv but then check posts to get an idea of problems like plasma screens, ...
Pony up for the Mini. @TV = server (OS X) or media player (@TV OS)... not both.
After playing around with Remote Buddy on my iPhone controlling my Macbook, I'm regretting my decision to go with @TV. Seems like it would be tough to get something like that to work on the @TV.... or would it?
