Hi,

I had a perfectly working ATV with OS 2.2 patched with atvusbcreator, nitoTV, ....

then I've upgraded to 2.4 by sftp'ing the 2.4 dmg into Upgrades and running osupgrade

now my ATV no longer responds to the white Apple Remote

the light on the ATV flashes when I press a button and I can even pair and unpair (tried over a dozen times) using Menu+<< and Menu+>> but otherwise it wont react to any button or menu press for navigation

the IPhone Remote App still works fine

tried again with upgrading to 2.4 with and without patchstick - no go
even after an osupgrade to 3.0 still the same

what am I missing ?

any ideas please ?

I really dont want to do a factory reset and wipe all my data - plus without the remote working I dont even know how to do one.

ssh work fine so repair or debugging shouldnt be a problem

FYI

I've got it fixed with help from another forum

basically by going from 2.2 to 2.4 with just the OS dmg I was missing the IR controller firmware upgrade

here's what made my remote work again:

chmod a+x IRReceiverUpdaterTool2

I had a similar issue after upgrading to ATV 3.0; my white remote did not work and I thought my ATV was frozen (on the Movies menu). Then I decided to give my Remote app a try and it was working.

So, I navigated to the remote settings and "unpaired" the remotes; this re-enabled my white remote as well as my Logitech Harmony universal remote to work with ATV. I would have never figured this out if I didn't have the Remote app installed on my iPod Touch.
