Default NitoTV 0.9.0 - AFP server problems

Having an issue with getting AFP up and running. I have the 10.4.9 Combo Update and recovery.dmg in ~/Documents/ and it appears that Smart Installer completes successfully, but in the end, after rebooting, I am unable to turn on AFP and it says, "AppleFileServer Missing, cannot enable". I've done it twice now, thinking that I messed something up somewhere the first time, but still no luck. The installer log doesn't give any indication that it tried to copy AppleFileServer over...

The /usr/sbin/AppleFileServer symlink exists, but /System/Library/CoreServices/AppleFileServer.app doesn't. I tried copying this over manually, and NitoTV doesn't give the error when starting it, but it never starts.

doesnt look like it ever touches your recovery.dmg are you sure its from a 1.0 appletv? if you copied over applefileserver from anything other than mac os x 10.4 it will never work.

I copied applefileserver out of my recovery.dmg

I had used this image before and it worked fine (or so I thought), but it is possible that I got a hold of another backup or something. I'll have to double check it.

Great product by the way. Thanks.

OK, verified recovery.dmg with an md5 hash I found online...

    MD5 (recovery.dmg) = 55b909196952ff72c93aaf3553cf661e

I am still having the same problem.

does this recovery.dmg when mounted have an os.dmg inside? the log you have there doesn't appear to believe that is a proper recovery.dmg. it doesnt check the md5 of the recovery or even the OS.dmg, it checks the md5 of the mach_kernel.prelink inside of the OS.dmg. that is the only thing that is relevant with concerns to md5 check.

No mounting the recovery.dmg mounts the OSBoot partition. Maybe that is the issue then. I guess I only have the OS.dmg part. It was named OS-dot-dmg 1.0.dmg

    UPDATE:
OK, I renamed the file properly to OS.dmg and now everything seems fine. I didn't realize that they were two different things.
