That's strange, whenever I add a feed, or stream it appears fine. When I try to connect though, i just get a black screen, then the apple logo and a reboot.
If I try again then copy the console log and crash report, would you have a look at it for me?
TIA
Santa

RSS Feeds

OK, here is the issue so far:
RSS:
All existing RSS feeds play OK. When I try to add a feed, I get an error message saying that I have to press the Play/Pause button to restart apple TV.
No new messages are present in either the CrashReporter.Log, or the Console.Log
Streams:
Streams can be added OK, but any stream that is pressed results in the screen going either completely black, or displaying the apple logo. This lasts about 15 secs and just returns to the previous menu. Again, no real crash so nothing in the logs.
Do you have any idea what is causing it, or is there a way to get a memory dump that I can send you?
Thanks,
Santa

there must be a bug in my code for adding the rss feeds, ill take a look at it today.
re: streams, that section is VERY VERY picky, most of the streams i put in there dont work unfortunately. they have to be rtsp streams and they have to be set up a VERY specific way or they wont work. i dont remember exactly everything about which ones did and didnt work so ill have to look into that.
EDIT: yes there was a bug in RSS editing section and it should now be fixed for the next release. thanks for the info, i overlooked that one for a long while!

blued and Bluetooth.plist missing

0.7.0 Vastly improved memory management, several memory leaks have been fixed (thanks Jim). Network names with special characters should resolve properly when saved from the volumes section. TV show metadata fixed (broke it in the last release uknowingly). First Leopard/frontrow compatible version as well, this about won't appear there due to problems with document controller, but this version should universally work between 2.x and Leopard frontrow (intel only), it may or may not work with the Tiger version of frontrow, untested. Now possible to add RSS feeds through the UI just like in the Weather and Network sections. Slideshow Editor will let you set the time per slide for the photo plugin to anywhere from 1 second to 9999 hours.
Leopard Installer AppleTV take 2 installer Wiki I did the install as suggested with recovery.dmg and 10.4.9Combo.dmg. I get full success without any error. The full System Preferences.app loads. But the BluetoothPref.pane does not start. I tried putting the dongle at different times of the booting of the deivce but no luck. On checking other forums i did find that com.apple.Bluetooth.plist is missing from ~/Library/Preferences and when i do "launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.blued.plist" for blued.plist it says "nothing found to load".
This is what i did. I only copied 10.4.9.dmg and recovery.dmg (1.0) and ran the smart installer. I did not create any folders or chown, etc. The log showed all items including bluetooth items as Success.
Any thing missing ?

Feature Request - Screen Size adjustment
As most people should know, TVs even digital LCD/Plasma models, still normally run in an 'overscan' mode which means that in order to ensure that the entire screen is filled, some of the image is deliberately lost off the edges of the screen. (This overscan behaviour dates back to ancient CRT based TVs which used not to be able to accurately image at the edge of the screen, in my opinion it should no longer be used but is kept for backwards compatibility.)
While a few TVs have a '1 to 1' pixel mapping mode that would neither overscan or underscan and would therefore perfectly match a computer, most TVs still do not. This means that the Apple TV which always runs in overscan mode when used with such a TV will lose the edges of the video when played via NitoTV.
Boxee and XBMC (both running on the Apple TV) have a feature that lets you adjust the video settings in their software to compensate for this, they basically shrink down (or scale up) the video to the size you specify which then will perfectly fit the screen.
My request therefore, is that a similar adjustment feature be added to NitoTV so that when it is used to play a DVD or video file, it also can perfectly fit the screen. The developers of NitoTV might want to look at Boxee or XBMC for a demonstration of how to do this.
Note: I am aware NitoTV is unlikely to be able to do this globally for the entire BackRow display, I am merely looking for this to be done only when using NitoTV to play videos, I am happy to leave the rest of BackRow untouched. It should be noted that Apple have designed the user interface of BackRow so that all the important portions are kept inside what is referred to as the 'TV Safe' area, this is the portion guaranteed not to be lost due to overscan.

Hello Nito,
I have a problem installing 0.9.4. If I install it manually, it keeps showing this in my ssh terminal window:
tar: System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/PlugIns/nitoTV.frappliance/Contents/Info.plist: Cannot write: No space left on device
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Archive contains obsolescent base-64 headers
tar: System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/PlugIns/nitoTV.frappliance/Contents/Resources/ApplianceIcon.png: Cannot write: No space left on device
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
Restarting Finder...
If I try to install it on atv from nitoTV->Settings->installsoftware, it says I have something nitoTVhelpe permission problem.
Do you know whats wrong with my atv? I still have almost 20G available....!?
Thank you.

"No space left on device", that refers to OSBoot partition and not Media.

Hello Davilla,
So what can I do for this headache? Can I delete something from some partition to get more space released? Please guide me how...
Thanks,
Joseph
