About LinkBacksI just bought apple tv 1st gen from ebay
Ive successfully managed to create a usb stick with usbtv creator
However once installed I dont seem to have a software menu, only launcher for xbmc and boxee
I would like to be able to install other 3rd party apps ie nitotv etc
also would like to be able to use an external usb drive which my music and films are stored
can anyone help please

What ATVOS version? The install of nitotv is quite simple via SSH. SoftwareMenu can be tricky to get working on the more recent ATVOS versions (or at least it was for me)

I would like to put OS X on my old apple tv but do not have access to a Mac therefore no CCC. How can I get the OS X DMG onto the ATV Hard drive using my windows 7 or Linux box?

i thought I had solved this by using TRANSMAC to format the HD with the DMG. When i boot the Apple TV i only get a wee picture of an Apple TV with a blinking question mark above it.
