Well, the version number is 2.3.1, and I can say that it responds MUCH better to my Apple remote note. 2.3 was pretty much useless as it took multiple clicks to get a single menu up/down, so bad that I went back to 2.1. 2.3.1 seems to respond as good as 2.1 now.

Also, v.2.3 offsets for USB appear to work fine with 2.3.1 as well.

It depends what version you're running at the moment. If you have an ATV with 2.1 or 2.2 then I wouldn't update. If you have a 1.x machine then updating would be good.
The problem with the 2.3 version is, that some minor things don't work correctly atm.

To get the version of your currently running ATV, go to the settings menu and select the first menu entry. Then you should see some more details about your ATV (version, free disk space, ...)

To update your ATV, browse the wiki.awkwardtv.org. There you will find some infos about a "Patchstick". This will unleash the full power of your ATV.

Btw, I'd recommend to use the ATVUSB-Creator (atvusb-creator - Google Code).

Ash: Aside from the remote flakiness I was seeing, what else is wrong with 2.3? This is 2.3.1, it fixed my complaint, so perhaps those other items have been addressed as well.

    thanks for your reply.

i´ve done the pachstick stuff already, my atv is 2.3 . i thought that atv was like iphone, that everytime you update to a new version you have to do the patchstick again.

so you can do it then through the software update???

    thanks again

The problem with 2.3 lies in the detail, eg. there is no keymaps support in nitoTV, because the qtplayback has changed. The irKeyboard emu also doesn't work. AppleScript seems to have problems as well.
If you don't need that features, ok, then no problem for you. But as I need this, ... I wonÄt update, as long as not all features work as expected.
