I want to get NitoTV functionality back to 3.0 but I can only connect to my 3.0 ATV using Fugu but not thru terminal

Terminal gives me the follwing error message:
ssh -1 frontrow@192.168.1.34
Protocol major versions differ: 1 vs. 2

Idea's anyone.....


Just found out I can get in using ssh frontrow@ip.ad.re.s

Has anyone enabled USB and external storage on ATV 3.0 yet? The patchstick worked fine to get SSH up and running. I downloaded nitoTV 0.8 and installed w/o errors, but no menus (as nitosoft confirmed). Is there a way to run the smart installer from the command line?

I really only need USB storage enabled for my setup. Any steps that work in 3.0?

probably need to take out the -1 but either way nitoTV doesnt work in 3.0 yet i was hoping to have it out today but it may look more like early tomorrow at this point.

By the way, has anyone seen the variuos posts on apple's own userforum? Many people were complaining about sluggish behaviour, freezing and increased heat production....
I haven't experienced this myself yet but i have only installed 3.0 on my fool around ATV.

UPDATE : Just found it : OSupdate - AwkwardTV

you can use AtvPwn - AwkwardTV and it will download the dmg and patch it with ssh and any plugins you choose (i would only choose nitoTV right now, the other ones arent updated for 3.0 yet and wont work) it will then scp it into the proper location (at least it should) and then u can ssh in and trigger osupdate

I am having troubles with AtvPwn, it crashes everytime. Could it be it does not run well on snow leopard?

AtvPwn crashes on me all the time...something to do with Snow Leopard?
Or is there another way to install NitoTV?

post or pm the crash log you can find it easily from the help menu. it was built in snow leopard (targeted for 10.4+ so it should work fine from 10.4-10.6)

Hi Nito,

the complete crashlog is so big it can't even be attached when zipped...

In the log I find the following;
Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'working directory doesn't exist.'

So I tried to run the app from my home folder, same result.

Anyway, if you know an alternative way for me to send you the complete log (if still needed) please let me know.
