    Default [Movies] Subtitle Problems

    Hello,

I have the ATV patchsticked, with SSH and AFP enabled over a 1.1 safe update, I (think) i have succesfully installed perian components cause I'm able to play .avi files.

Now throwing a lost episode (lost.avi) into Frontrow/Movies along with his repsective subtitles lost.srt I cannot view any subtitles neither from the default movie frappliance, or from Sapphire and ATV files, but if I play the video through AFP in my macbook, everything seems perfectly working.

So my question is, what should I check in order to get them working.

A secondary question is : How can I transfer the helvetica fonts to my osboot/System folder, how can I enable access or what terminal commands should I use. I saw this thread,

    http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthre...ight=subtitles

which addresses my issue but the solution was under PMs'

    thank you in advance

perian fails with subtitles when you try to play a mp4 file.
mplayer does not fail playing subtitles on the appleTV. mplayer is embedded in nitoTV. Install and use nitoTV and you can use subtitles the way you like it.

There are allot af ways to do this. The one i prefer is with MacFUSE and sshfs for GUI experience.
But these are OSX programs and i dont know your system.
The commands for copying files to your ATV over ssh in the terminal is something like this:
    scp /Address/Of/The/File/From/Your/Computer frontrow:frontrow@IPADDRES:/System/Folder/You/Want/The/File/To/Be/In [ENTER]
Good Luck, and next time show us your system info as well.
I see now your are on a macbook. So try MacFUSE and SSHFS.

    Thank you for the answer.

My optimal setup is to have subtitles played in .avi files through Sapphire, you suggest that installing nitorv and thus mplayer will fix things?

OK so I installed nitotv and have some issues :

    i) I got a movie placed in my movie folder playing (lost.avi) along with subtitles (lost.srt) seemed to be playing through mplayer everything ok . BUT this only happened once I tried it to play it again and when a clicked on the movie, the black screen with the apple logo blinked and returned again to the menu. I tried to switch playing method from mplayer to quicktime and mixed, and got it working with QT and mixed but with no subtitles.

ii) I got the shares working, was easy, I want to check the automounter for ease of mind.

iii) I got some black screens and i havent found out what's causing it, looking to find out

you need to be the super user (root) to do it.
to get super user privilege you should use the command sudo:
    echo "frontrow" | sudo -s
