Mounting a smb share on the ATV
I've been trying to get the mount_smbfs to work to mount one of my windows shares.
I've copied an 10.4.8 smbfs.kext to the aTV and repaired it's permissions and give it the right owner and rights, after removing the extensions.mkext and extensions.kextcache i've rebooted the atv. When i try to mount a windows share i get the following error:
sudo mount_smbfs -W mydomain \\computer\movies -U user
/mach: No such file or directory
Can't open /mach for reading - No such file or directory
kextload: can't map module files
kextload: can't check load addresses of modules
kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/smbfs.kext
mount_smbfs: SMB filesystem is not available
Any suggestions or tips to get this working?

Ok, ik got rid of the mach errors. I needed to mount the file system as read write at boot.(touch .readwrite)
Now i just need to get this kext to load in.

Hmm, i've booked 0% progress so far.
It seems to me that the extension has to be adressed in the kernel, but i guess there is no smb support in the current aTV kernel. Can somebody shed a light on this?

Any news on creating a .kext which works?
If not, what about that: http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/Mount...rive_via_SMBFS

Now we have good news on .kext loading - mount_smbfs works now:

Thanks to Turbo it's quite simple to load .kexts:
