    I uploaded my own 10.5.8 install to RS. If you want to have the DLC, just send me a PM.

    Btw, my led is white ;-)

    Some more details about my image:
    * All 10.5.8 updates, except for the newly available Java (1.6?) update
    * QE/CI
    * Resolution can be changed, when using HDMI
    * Video over component out is also possible, but some monitors have overscan issues (black border or desktop not fully visible)
    * Speed is quite good
    * No Led blinking (constant white led)
    * Low sound volume (like in jon's image)
    * Quicklook for avi-files doesn't work --> Finder crashes

    Hello. Thank you for the kindness, but, watt do I do wit this "dlc" file?
    How do I access the dmg for download?

    Also, have you the ATV_COLOR kext for leopard working? Do you have color working? I'm trying to compile the "PAL" source version.

    Best regards,

    Xanix

    - I'm also testing the server version from a clean install. I almost got 198 mb on boot. So 58mb left for the torrent applications. I'm trying to make it the lightest version on memory consumption!
    I'm booting from a external 2.5 usb drive. Will I see more speed if installed on the internal one?

    DLC is a download container. You can use JDownloader or some similar apps (MSD, RSD, ...) to download the files.

    This is for security purpose - so nobody can see the original links.

    I don't think that the color kext (color via only one component cable) works. Though I personally never tried this because I want to have 720i+.

    I have my 10.5.8 installed on the media partition alongside the normal ATV OSX. It's a bit faster than starting from a usb drive.

    Default how to use the images with a USB drive?

    Hi,
    I downloaded both 10.5.8 images: Jon's and Ash's.
    To put it on my external USB drive I used:
    For Jon's: dd if=/Users/rafael/Desktop/ATV\ OSX.dmg of=/dev/disk1s2
    For Ash's: Disk Utility Restore application.

    I connected in both trials the USB disk in the AppleTV and restarted, it always boot on AppleTV system instead OSX.

    I tried running on the AppleTV system (with the USB drive connected) both scripts from Xanix (atv.sh or osx.sh) before rebooting, and always boot on AppleTV system instead OSX.

    Could someone help me with this, please.

    Well, my disk image is a normal hfs+ image, that you can mount on your Mac.

    Before you can use it on your ATV, you have to change the partition GUID (http://www.hackint0sh.org/f98/634.htm).

    I didn't do this for you, because then you would have no chance to copy it to your usb disk with Disk Utility or Carbon Copy Cloner. Instead you would be forced to use dd.
    But dd can cause some other issues. (is it a partition image or a whole disk image?) If treaded wrong, the usb disk is not bootable.

    I copied the image to my usb disk and booted. From the running system I used Carbon Copy Cloner to copy the disk image to my Media partition. The important fact here is, to NOT delete/format the (!!) partition.
    If done right, the media partition and Leopard can live side by side without any problems.

    To boot the internal Leopard I just boot up Apple TV OSX and then use "bless" to make the system on the Media partition bootable. But be aware to use the --nextOnly parameter as well, because it's not possible to bless the ATV OSX from Leopard. If not done so, maybe Leopard will always boot ...

    For those of you using my leopard disk image and having the problem that the sound prefpane can't be opened, just use jon's Sound.prefpane: RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting.

    This doesn't solve the low volume bug though.

    Now rebooting works as expected. Additionally now the "bless" command works. It's possible to make leopard always boot (from the Media partition).
    Files: http://rapidshare.com/files/28387488..._bless_Fix.zip

    I found out that removing/modifieing some keys form the AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Info.plist could be the solution to the "low volume bug". Especially the keys "SignalProcessing", "MuteGPIO", "Gain" under the key "PathMapRef" could be used to implement custom settings. If I find some time I'll digg into this in more detail.
