    Default Help?

I'm hoping someone can help me out.. I'm trying to install jon's new 10.5.8 image onto the internal drive of my apple tv, I have the image on my mbp and I've managed to mount the internal drive so I can see the osboot partition (I'm not totally clear on weather or not I need to do anything partition wise in this scenario).. I noticed that there is way less in this image than the first 10.5.8.. The new one just has 4 folders, do I format the osboot partition and then copy the folders over? Do I format and use ccc? Do I just trash everything and copy the folders over?

Any help you can give me would be amazing..

    Thanks
    M

Is the audio issue in the 10.5.8 image still a persistant bug?

Yes, and it seems like it will forever be unless you invest in something external.

Default JonMS 10.5.8 image on internal Apple TV HDD

Hi there, I downloaded the latest 10.5.8 image from JonMS and did copy it to the internal 40GB HDD of my Apple TV. However, the Apple TV does still not boot Mac OS X but the standard Apple TV frontend.
These are the steps that I took:
    - Opened my Apple TV and disconnected the HDD
    - Connected my Apple TV HDD to my Mac via USB converter
    - Copied the 10.5.8 image from JonMS to the Media partition of the Apple TV HDD via Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC)
    - Reconnected the HDD to the Apple TV

    Am I missing something?

    Default Audio - again

I have been using a usb sound card but it is very unstable.

I know the audio is unlikely to be fixed by anyone but can anyone point me to another forum or a resource where i can learn more about the OS X kernel and drivers so I could at least play around with some alternatives

Many thanks for all the hard work to get me this far.

    Default Leapord server

As I understand it you can upload a new kernel, strip the ram and processor requirements. and install the Server OS on an ATC prepped USB hard drive. Has anyone attempted Leopard Server version on the ATV yet?

I don't know how I could of made this simpler, You write it to the WHOLE disk not the media partition.

Thanks for all the great info JonMS!! I do have one quick question. I've got my AppleTV running the disk image, but I can't figure out how to control it? I have a wireless keyboard and mouse and they are not working with it. Do I need to use a USB splitter and use a hard wired mouse and keyboard? Right now its hooked up to my TV as the monitor and looks great...just cant control it lol. Thanks for any help!!!

Forgive my noob-ish question, but before I go through the whole voiding my warranty, I wanted to check if what I want to do is even possible. So here goes:

    1. From reading through this thread, it seems to me that if I simply use CCC to copy Jon's image onto the ATV hard drive, it should automatically be ready to boot into Leopard 10.5.8. Correct?

    2. Can I assume you can just plug in a USB keyboard and mouse to control it? At that point, I'd imagine I could set up a VNC of some sort to control it via my MacBook instead of having a dedicated keyboard/mouse for the ATV. Is that right?

    3. Would the ATV running 10.5.8 be able to handle flash video (i.e. youtube, megavideo, etc.) and other internet video sources?

    4. I'm slightly confused about the audio bug. Am I correct in assuming that if I hook the ATV up to my TV with component cables that the audio and video should work correctly?

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
