Default USB External Sound Card Audio Adapter

I bought a cheap USB External Sound Card Audio Adapter:

Amazon.com: 7.1 Channel USB External Sound Card Audio Adapter: Electronics: Reviews, Prices & more

It works fine with Jon's last image, I can connect the audio output to my TV or external speakers too.

By the way, I could not get 110Mb used memory with Jon's last image, I get about 160Mb wthout any application running. Is there any addional tunning required to get 110Mb?

    Thanks for your great work.

For now I am still trying to get the analogue audio outputs to work. I have an EyeTV USB receiver in the USB port and I am trying to avoid having a USB hub.

For those who are interested I have been able to transfer the contents of my USB drive and set up my AppleTV up Dual Boot using this guide http://www.hackint0sh.org/f98/741-2.htm

Use OS X disk utility while running USB Leopard on the AppleTV to 'recover' the contents of your working USB boot drive to the media partition of the AppleTV.

Then while running the USB drive version of leopard I used this command and rebooted.
    bless --folder=/Volumes/Media/System/Library/CoreServices --file=/Volumes/Media/System/Library/CoreServices/boot.efi --setBoot --nextonly

The machine came back up using the internal drive with the OS running from the Media partition which is 600mb on my machine.

JonMS and ash, just wanted to thank you guys for the help and images you've created. I'm running into a bit of a problem though when trying to boot from the internal drive. I have done the following.

    - Used CCC to clone the DMG to the Media portion of the ATV internal hard drive via my MacBook Pro.
    - Inserted the drive back into the ATV and attempted to boot, only to find that a picture of an ATV comes up with a ? over it and goes no further. Also, an amber and white flashing light sequence goes on during all of this.

Can you bless a drive via terminal on a MBP or do I have to create a USB disk with a leopard install on it to bless the internal drive to boot? BTW, the ATV is the 160GB model I bought about a week ago from Amazon, I believe it has the latest firmware on it if that has anything to do with it. Let me know.

    Thanks again.

    Hi

I'm completely new to this but have run into problems. I've downloaded JonMS' image and have cloned it using CCC onto a 1TB hard drive (2.5"). It booted up fine on my Macbook Pro, i made no changes and rebooted back into my Macbook Pro to make the partition changes. Followed the instructions and recieved no errors, except each time i unmounted the drive i get a "disk intilize" box and i just pressed the x to close the window each time (happened twice) Once the partition table changed i pluged it into my Apple TV and rebooted the device and all that happens is Apple TV boots and gives me an option to run diagnostics, reboot or return to factory settings and after that loads up the Apple TV OS. So it looks like nothing is happening, OSX wont boot and i get no errors. I've followed the steps 5 times, and have searched this forum and can't figure out what i'm doing wrong, really need some help. Could it be that i'm trying to boot of a 1TB drive or that the Apple TV hasn't been hacked and is running version 2.2? Any help appreciated, thank you!!

Sorry, I didn't realise there is an updated version of 10.5.8. Currently downloading that and will give it a go.

OK just tried the updated version JonMS' build, i've cloned it onto my 1TB drive, tried it without changing the partitioning table, didn't work Apple TV just boots up, then i changed the partitioning table and same thing. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, the external drive boots on my Mac and it does switch on when plugged into the ATV (i've been using it as my external storage device on it previously) The ATV has been restored to factory settings version 2.2. Any help please?

    Thanks

    Default Memory managment

    Hi All,
I am using Jon's last image. I solved the audio problem by using a USB audio adapter to connect to my TV audio input.
It works well, however I notice sometimes programs do not close propertly and the small memory available gets in trouble, for example: Frontrow works fine with the remote, but when I quit Frontrow and check for memory usage on a terminal with "top -o rsize" it still there using about ~40Mb, so I have to kill it manually. Any suggestions for better memory managment?
    cheers.
