I'm still working on getting this to be a time machine / itunes server...looking good so far!
First off, thanks to you both for providing these! I can't use Jon's 10.5.8 because of the sound issues (one the main things I plan on using my Apple TV for is XBMC).
But I've also encountered an issue with Ash's version as well. It's my keyboard. I've noticed that many of the special character keys (e.g. "/", ":", "@", etc.) are not mapped correctly. For example, hitting the "?" key sends the "-" character. Even the "z" key produces a "y" instead. I'm not sure what's going on. I've had this problem both with a USB keyboard and an Apple bluetooth keyboard.
I noticed that Ash mentioned something about removing unnecessary keyboard layouts and thought this might be a side effect. Note that I am in the US. Is anyone else having this issue? Any suggested workarounds?
I figured out the issue. I went into Preferences/International/Input Menu. From there, you can specify your country. That fixed my keyboard issue. Sweet!

To get wired ethernet working, same thing as I tried for the audio but it worked : I took the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.5.8 Image and I put it instead of the same kext on the 10.5.5 Extensions Folder. And it worked ! So I had 10.5.5 with working audio and ethernet.
But it seems that the last 10.5.8 from JonMS is a lot faster and now I'm trying to have it working with audio.
One more question : I saw that with the 10.5.5 installed on a USB Drive and booted from a Mac (before making the USB Drive ready for the AppleTV) the sound works perfectly. And it doesn't work with 10.5.8. Same conclusion on AppleTV (Nothing new here but strange because it isn't the same audio card... Am I wrong?). Can I deduce that if I got the sound finally working on 10.5.8 booted from a Mac, it will worked too for the AppleTV ? It can save me time to work only from my Mac and try different kext instead of unpluging disk, pluging it on the ATV, wait etc... Your opinion ?

The new Mac Mini has a HDMI output, would the audio driver for that be suitable for testing with the Apple TV?
