okay, then i'll try to install it with the ideneb dvd.

I'll gonna use the 1.6 lite version, this should work too.

Is there any kernel which i should prefer?

I think Voodoo and Qoopz should work. But check the description - it should state "sse2/ss3".

    Default Yeah, Yeah!

Hello to all. I've finally bought a full HD TV for the living room. Leopard work's great on 1080p!!!He, he, he!!!!

Well, the problem is the sound. Very, very low... Any news about that?

Is it possible to change some files on the VoodooHDA.kext to make the sound louder?

If I buy some USB stereo speakers can I control/make the sound higher?

Right now, this is the only problem to fully enjoy leo on the atv...

    Best regards,

    Xanix

PS: I recommend to install the Application SofaControl. Wit it you can control everything on the screen...frontrow, quicktime, itunes, safari, transmission...

I don't know if this works. But if the usb device has dedicated drivers/kexts than it might work flawlessly.

Afaik, noone ever tried that/reported a success.

You need only a basic understanding of how to setup a hackintosh, a hackintosh distro, a usb disk (~ 8-10GB) and the tutorial (first post). If you follow the guide closely you should have a working installation on a usb disk within max. 2 hours.

From then on it's just on step further to have it installed on your internal disk - all without opening up your ATV and voiding warrenty.

I've been working on this all day and really think I'm missing some steps, because it is not working. I d/l'ed Jon's image (thanks seeders!) and used CCC to put the image on a clean/formatted USB external disc drive (GUID partition).

I then plug the USB drive into the AppleTV (both with a hub with keyboard/mouse attached and without -- directly into the ATV) and it just boots normally into the ATV OS.

What am I missing? Do I need to "bless" the external drive? I hope I don't sound too stupid here, but it was my hunch that the image would simply everything into the above steps that I took. The first post doesn't really say much about what to do with either image (Jon's or Ash's) other than what I've already done.

    MANY thanks!!

You can't boot a disk image directly. You have to modify the partition GUID of first. Look at the section "Change Partition Type" here: http://www.hackint0sh.org/f98/634.htm.

If you change the partition GUID to the recovery GUID, then you can't mount it on your regular mac os anymore. But it will boot on your ATV.

I'll update my guide to make it easier for newbies ;-)

Thanks, Ash! That was the missing step that I needed!

I can see that I am going to have a problem with my USB hard drive though. I am having power issues. Do you guys used a powered USB hub? When I run my drive off of its external a/c adapter, it keeps freaking out.

    Thanks again!!!
