Arrow A few questions about setting one of these up

Hello, I'm new to the AppleTV hacking world, (but not to hacking in general). I realize these questions have already been answered somewhere, so I'd be happy with a link to the right answer if you'd rather not explain for the millionth time.

Just some background, I currently have a modded Xbox with a 400gb hard drive and I love it. I've got all my movies/tv shows/games/music/etc. and me and my room mates play around with it every night. I'm now reaching that breaking point when I am running out of space and I'm looking for a solution. Putting a bigger hard drive in my Xbox is out of the question because it was an absolute nightmare to get set up, not to mention the technology is old. This is why I am looking at AppleTV.

    Here are my questions:

    1. Xbox Media Center is simply amazing. Is there anyway to put it on an AppleTV and if not, is there a similar interface I can use to quickly access Movies, TV Shows, Games, etc?
    2. Are there any emulators that will work on AppleTV for Nintendo, SNES, N64, etc?
    3. How do I install a new hard drive? What specifications does the hard drive have to have in order to fit and work properly?
    4. I really don't like iTunes. Would I have to use it to put my movies and music on there? Instead of synching, I much prefer just putting the movies right on the hard drive using FTP/SSH/etc.
    5. How do I install Divx and Xvid codecs?
    6. Is there a step by step guide someone can direct me to that would show me what to do from the moment I open the AppleTV to the point when I have a new hard drive and all my divx/xvid movies and music able to be stored and watched on AppleTV?

Thanks for your help. (I am a pro iPhone modder/unlocker if anyone has questions about that, PM me.)

    I will take this question.

    1) AppleTV Has a plugin called ATVFiles. Used to watch downloaded Movies, TV Shows, ETC. No games... well just yet... Anything Divx AVI MOV allmost anything, downloaded via - HDDVD/Blueray.

    2) A plugin called Nito TV had working emulators, NES/GBA/SEGA But i think that stoped with the new AppleTV update released the middle of Feburary, but i wouldent doubt that wont be working in about 15 more days.

    3) A New harddrive can be installed. thing is it uses a Laptop 2.5 harddrive. Very expensive yet very small. Best thing to do is use the USB port on the back of the AppleTV and attach a USB 1 TB Drive for MAD! Space, as u described you need it. Or mount a shared drive.

    4) NO, you dont need to use iTunes once u use PatStick to patch ur Apple TV. You can use SSH to transfer files.

    5) Very easy, takes just a min or two, to install Codecs.

    6) Yes there is a step by step guide. Welcome to Apple TV 4 Windows. A website created be me. I been working hard on it to give the windows community a easy well put together website to hack up there ATV. Visit www.ATV4Windows.com You dont need to upen up your AppleTV (ATV) to mod it. unles su want to upgrade your hard drvie. Which i really dont sugguest. The site is still being put together, most mods are there to get done what you want done. becasue all mods had to be reconfigured after the AppleTV update came out. ATV is the way to go, i love mine, use it everday! Enjoy! again www.ATV4Windows.com

I just went to your site and it looks like exactly what I need. It looks like this will get me set up to play movies, but as far as switching out the hard drive, I'll need to do that because 40GB or 160GB is too small. I'm gonna need around 750GB to 1TB (which I am willing to buy). And I'd rather have it installed internally so my AppleTV is very portable. I found this guide http://www.appletvhacks.net/2007/03/...grade-process/ which describes how to do it on a Mac, but I have a PC. Do you know where I can learn how to do it on a PC?
