    Default eyeTV on AppleTV

    Hallo,

as described in the Awkwardtv-Wiki, it seems to be possible to run eyeTV on the AppleTV. Has anybody made some experiences with this?

I tried it and had 2 major problems:
    - I'm not able to start eyeTV in Fullscreen mode
    - sometimes (especially when changing from/to fullscreen), eyeTV crashes and AppleTV reboots

Did anybody have similar probkems? Any idea how to solve this?

    Thanks,

    Michael

Well I've tried a few times and I can't get mine to work (I've got the Miglia TVDuo). The EyeTV software appears to be installed OK but it doesn't recognise the Miglia. It was suggested to me on IRC that may be the ATV isn't providing enough power via the USB port for the Duo to work - so tried a powered USB hub but still no go.

I've retraced my steps but nothing - so I've either screwed something up or the ATV just doesn't recognise the Duo.

Any suggestions or details of the steps you took greatfully received!

did you apply Turbos USB patch? without the patch eyetv didn't find the tv stick.
you have to download the usb patch from http://0xfeedbeef.com/appletv/, apply the patch to your kernel, exchange you kernel with the patched one and reboot...

Yes I've applied the USB patch - the keyboard and mouse work fine!

I tried it but it wouldn't start up into full screen - but I could enter menu mode using a keyboard. It didn't respond to the remote. This was with EyeTV 2.4. The awkward tv article specifies version 2.1 which is interesting since I thought there was no menu mode in that version.

As far as I know, EyeTV added the so-called Front-Row Integration in version 2.3. According to some internet articles, this Version actually looked like Front-Row (Black/White color-scheme). In Version 2.3.1 they called it fullscreen mode and changed the background color to blue...

So I doubt that Version 2.1 had a fullscreen mode - maybe it is a typo in the awwakdtv wiki. Anyways - I would be willing to test version 2.1 or even 2.3. Unfortunately I don't know where to download older Versions of EyeTV - on the elgato site you can download 2.4 or everything below 2.0. Are there any alternative download sites? any hints?

The Awkward TV page has been updated and now specifies version 2.4.1 - so I guess 2.1 was a typo.
