Default External storage on ATV 2.x?

    Hi all,

After several attempts I'm still unable to get an external HDD attached to my ATV, I've now tried this under 2.3 and 2.0.2 firmware. I've followed this but it gives conflicting advice on whether it will work on 2.x ....

    http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/Enable_USB

Currently on the last step I'm getting the following error ...

    bash-2.05b# /sbin/kextload -v /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
kextload: extension /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext appears to be valid
    kextload: loading extension /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
kextload: kext doesn't have all dependencies
kextload: can't generate internal dependency graph for /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
kextload: sending 1 personality to the kernel

So either can anyone assist with the above or is it that I need to downgrade to 1.1 to get this working??

    Much appreciated.

tried this just now and it worked.

some notes which you might have missed:

    1) make sure you get the kext files from the 10.4.9 combo update dmg.
    2) make sure you run turbo first

    ssh frontrow@AppleTV.local
    sudo -s
    /sbin/turbo_kext_enabler.bin
    /sbin/kextload -v /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext

    3) make sure you fixed permissions on the 3 files you uploaded

    sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
    sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext
    sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IOSCSIArchitectureModelFamily.kext
    sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
    sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext
    sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/IOSCSIArchitectureModelFamily.kext
