Hello, first time post woo...
Ok, so I am pretty new to Mac anything and ssh and all that but I have gotten pretty far, I have some questions for a separate thread but I thought the first thing I should do is contribute.
This probably will not help with some hacks as I think the home folder is protected (correct me if I am wrong and forgive my inexperience), however I can view inside it... have not tried copying to it yet.
USE XBMC TO COPY FILES. That's right.
You can use xbox media centers file manager to copy files on to your ATV from a network share or flash drive. It's a little clunky but its easy to use for people with little know how.
in the confluence skin (new default), the file manager menu is a little hidden so access it by: go to settings and push to the right and select file manager.
this gives you a source/destination style view of the hard drive.
You can then add network sources ie smb//yourpcname/
You can access the context menu by holding the menu button to perform actions. For a source you can edit it etc, for a folder or file you can move or copy it.
I have not figured out how to mark files with a press of the remote buttons

so you will have to either go file/folder by file/folder or use the select all. there seems to be no mark/unmark option in the context menu... maybe project mayhem 3 skin would be better for this. To deselect all navigate away from the folder and back in.
**Also if anyone knows a shortcut to the front page in XBMC please let me know as I have not been able to figure it out if it exists
