ATVFiles breaks sound in iTunes music?
Hi all,
I had a clean appletv (2.3) and applied ATVUSB to enable ssh. I then installed nitoTV to enable USB access to my external drive.
Result: everything worked fine (incl. sound)
I then used the 'Software' menu to install ATVFiles. I did this because my external drive would appear in the 'Files' section of nitoTV only after I ssh into my ATV and run a command such as 'diskutil list'. However, ATVFiles gave me an option to list all drives and I could then browse my external drive using either nitoTV or ATVFiles.
HOWEVER, now my appleTV does not generate any sound when I play music using the usual 'Music' menu item. I can navigate to my albums/genre and when I click click, the video shows that the music is being played (i.e. an advancing progress bar is shown) BUT no sound :-( Note that I can still hear the regular 'bonk' sound when I select menu items.
Any and all help would be much appreciated.
PS: I did install mplayer codecs using nitoTV. Is this the culprit?

Solution?
Again... I seem to have figured out a solution to my own problem!
It appears that nitoTV might have been the culprit. I changed Files playback setting to 'Mixed' instead of mplayer or Quicktime. This (and a reboot of appletv) seems to have fixed my sound problem.

the nitoTV mixed setting only affects nitoTV it doesnt change any settings for any of the other plugins that are installed whether they are official or third party.
