atv1st gen ethernet network issue?
i have hacked this thing with firecores atv flash, and it worked great for a long time, well it kept hanging up so id have to unplug it a lot, and then one day it just kept looping back to the dagnostic screen and gave me the option to restart, restore (which it wont do) and to run diagnostics, when i run diagnostics it says i have an ethernet networking issue, and it WONT RESTORE TO FACTORY,
what can i do? i have updated the firecore thru usb and watched as it uploaded and then it went back to the same crap, i have it plugged in thru ethernet, and it shows up under my dhcp listing but it wont restore at all~~
tried plugging it into my mac to see if it would show up under itunes to no avail... im at a loss and want this working for xbmc/navi-x just like the other one i have upstairs!!
any recommendations?
thanks

The solution is not simple nor easy. If the factory restore fails, that typically means that the restore image is corrupt or the internal hard drive is failing. You may find this useful, but I'd suggest not attempting the steps unless you know what they are doing. You'd likely want to find someone who does understand what this is doing if you do not yourself. You could use steps like these to recover the broken ATV disk from a working one. You may have to disassemble your ATV to repair the HD as well.
As I said, the recovery is not simple nor easy, but maybe this will help lead you down the right track.
