Unhappy ATV resetting itself to 720p 60Hz

I want to have my ATV set to TV Resolution 720p 50Hz (in the UK), but every time I restart the ATV or just restart the Finder, the resolution is back to 720p 60Hz (top option).

I am 99% sure it has nothing to do with my UK Sony LCD TV, since there are no HDMI settings to interfere like this. It seems clear this is something happening to the preference file when Frontrow restarts.

Has anyone else come across this? Is this due to the fact I've hacked my ATV or is this a general Apple bug?

    Many thanks
    Mark

    Default mine goes to 480i

I have a similar problem, but mine automatically goes to 480i. I assume this is due to hacking, but I'm not sure. Lets hope someone can help us out with this.

I had a similar problem. Everytime I restarted Finder or the whole ATV short after the intro video the resolution was set back to 480i. I then found out that I had activated an option in nitoTV called "safe screen" or "safe display". Everytime Finder started, the resolution was reset to 480i.
Maybe you have the same settings.
