    Default ATV 2.3.1 update failed

    System:
ATV with updated hard drive (120GB Western Digital). I have previously loaded XBMC and Boxee.

I can't seem to run the 2.3.1 update. I get "Update Failed" every time I try to run it. Hardware diagnostics reports no errors. The factory restore works, so I am now running v 2.1.

Trying to apply the 2.3.1 update after the factory restore still results in the same "Update failed" error. It downloads the update just fine. Shortly after the status bar pops up for the update I get the error message (the status bar never moves).

I *assume* that this has to do with the bigger hard drive (maybe a partition checksum has an error?).

Anyone have some thoughts on how to fix this? If I use a patchstick and some of the OSupdate loaders can I bypass the Apple checks.

All of this crap for an update I didn't really need

    Thanks for the help.

    Scott

It is not Boxee, because I had 2.3 before the update, so it must be your bigger Hard Drive, why don't you try to restore to factory settings before updating?
