AppleTV (orig) + NitoTV ≠ Bluetooth keyboard :(
G'day,
AppleTV and hackintosh newbie here.
When the new TV was announced, I picked myself up an old model on the cheap, and used aTV Flash to hack it, with the main aim of being able to add external USB storage.
I've gotten that far... and was now considering adding a USB bluetooth keyboard/mouse. It's a Logitech model, EX90.
At the moment I have the USB dongle connected to one of the USB ports on the "M9" external hard drive, which in turn is connected to the TV.
The TV doesn't see the keyboard/mouse.
"Keyboard Magic" is installed and up to date (as part of aTV Flash I assume).
I ran the Smart Installer, and noted it has errors RE installation of bluetooth pref pane and (extension?).
Is that what is causing the problem? How can I get them to instal correctly?
The TV is running OS 3.0.2.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Coincidentally and possibly helpfully, I've been able to upload files remotely to the TV via Cyberduck on my Mac, so can instal other files that way if needed, though have had limited/poor success trying to access files on my Mac via the TV.
Cheers n thanks
cosmic

newbie question: Does appleTV 1 have built in bluetooth-hardware and -capabilities or is an external USB-bluetooth-dongle required in every case ?

There is no inbuilt bluetooth on ATV1. You need a USB bluetooth dongle (not all USB dongles are supported by the bluetooth drivers)

BTW, I don't think that a dongle could work if chained to a USB drive.
You should use a powered USB hub.
Does anyone know if a D-Link DBT-120 works? It was one of the first USB dongle supported in OSX.
Thank you

Correct, unlike FireWire which supports daisy-chaining devices, USB supports only a hub and spoke arrangement.
