    Default AppleTV Media Server

Hi.. I'm from Germany so sry for some mistakes in writing

At the end of the months I'll go to the USA and maybe I'm going to buy the AppleTV but I dont know if it can do exactly that what I want it to do

I hoped that with some hacks the AppleTV may be able to be used as an Media Server which Stream movies from an external Drive through the network to devices like a PS3.

Well thats the most important thing I want to know because if it isnt able to do that, than there no other use for me.

    greetings from Germany
    stephen

Dont know if I understand the link with the TwonkyMedia server right but I think that this is exactly what I need.

It says that I can configure TwonkyMedia with a browser. Is it then possible to configure the extern drive to be accessable for the clients?

Eventually you should be able to configure the server via a browser. I don't have any experience with running either one of these servers, but I will be setting up the firefly server tomorrow. Let me know if you have any luck with the twonkymedia server. It would be cool if you could stream video from your apple tv. For USB support use atv usb creator or something along those lines...
