appleTV and 2 tv's
I apologize in advance if this has been brought up before, I've done some searching but have not managed to get an answer as of yet.
I have an appleTV hooked to an HDMI splitter (on of those 15 buck ones on ebay)
some times both tvs will show the appleTV.
some times i get "out of range" on the tv that's next to the appleTv and I get invalid signal on the upstairs TV (15m cable)
can anyone enlighten me on this situation? what can I do to get this sorted?
also is there any way to "mod" the component and hdmi output to work simultaneously? that would be the other way to get it done.
Is it a splitter or a switch?
it's a splitter.
one of those 12" cables with the 2 female plugs in molded abs/plastic
HDMI Description, HDMI Pinout
It probably has something to do with pin 19. It detects whether there's a monitor (TV) connected. With two TV's connected, there may be something funny going on. Try one at a time to rule out bad hdmi cables.
I would think a remote switch would work.
HDMI / DVI Switch and Converter
That way you could disconnect the TV your not using
so i emailed the person i bought the splitter from.
apparently they had a bad batch and they were refunding all purchases from this batch.
got the money back and ordered another splitter.
this one shows on both tvs. no messages EXCEPT when i turn off one tv.
then it says no signal.
why would it require both Tvs to be on?
