I would like to buy an apple tv Take 2.

In the past i have copied all my dvds to harddrive. They are *.vob files in VIDEO_TS Directories.

Is it possible to connect the external Harddrive to ATV and play them??

Are there any alternatives to do so? I would like to prevent covert them into an other format because there are 200 dvds to convert.

Another short question: Is it possible to use covers for the Video_TS folders in ATV.

At the moment I use Front row. It works just fine. Just copy an file named preview.jpg in to the Folder an it works.

In short no. If you use a PatchStick you can enable the usb port for an external drive, but as far as I know no known plugin with play a DVD rip. They must be converted (ie. Handbrake or Visualhub).

So it is possible to put the converted media on an external Harddrive?

I think so much Dvds take more than 160 GB of memory.

Is there any source where to get a patchstick image? I do not have a Tiger-Dvd of Mac OS.

wow no one did any real research if they think you cant play DVDs in any plugin, considering my plugin not only played dvds from its first release in 1.x based appletvs, it also has made enabling usb and everything else necessary to make the appletv worth while as easy as possible.
