Exclamation Apple TV Dead after 2.0 update

    Good morning all.

My Apple TV died shortly after the 2.0 update. it was not modified in any way before the update, and the update seemed to install correctly. It rebooted a few times, and i actually had the new menu interface and was able to set it to rent a movie and everything. All seemed to work, i left it to go to work, and when i got back, the Apple TV is flashing the Yellow/Amber light on the front.

Anyone know how to revert the software to the 1.1? or even just to boot it to get me back up and running? I cant hear the hard drive Clicking, so i guess its working correctly... but could be wrong.

Any tips would be great! Thanks!

If Apple TV still doesn’t respond, try restoring it to the original factory settings:

Press and hold both Menu and - on the Apple Remote for 6 seconds or until the status
    light blinks amber.
    Choose a language.
    Choose Factory Restore.

This will return you to 1.0 or 1.1, depending on what came pre-installed on your unit. You will not loose any of your media files.

... I would wager that you had a hacked unit, and those things other than your photos (frappliances???) were kept on the OSBoot partition, not the media partition.

Don't assume. My AppleTV was bought directly from the Apple store and never hacked. I don't mind to be the wise ass if you want to be the dumb ass (lol, sorry...couldn't help it.)
