Does the patchstick still work as before? I got mine updated but really I never use the hacks anyways. VisualHub works good to convert all different video formats to AppleTV format.

k so a lot of people successfully patched their Apple TV 2.1 with patchstick 2.1.2 from atv4windows. When i try the same stick i get some bus error and then a timeout any ideas?

the updates are always applied the same, you will always need to repatch and you will always lose anything in the frontrow / users section of the appletv. and whatever you do, DONT use anything from atv4windows or atvpatch.com (if you value your appletv and don't want it bricked)

Well you always have the factory restore dmg on the hard drive so I doubt you could fully brick it.

thats the whole point, atvpatch.com had a patchstick being distributed that would actually zero the recovery partition. so it was bricked to the extent that you would need a backup sitting around of the recovery.dmg
