Activate USB Drive
Hello Guys,
I have an SSH enabled ATV and i was trying to activate the usb port with this tutorial: http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/Take_2_Full_Update
Everything works, but USB not. I want to connect e.g. an USB Stick or external Harddrive with movies on it and i want to start them.
I patched the kernel file, copied all files in the right directory but when i connect an usb stick or external harddrive nothing happens.
There is no Volume under ATVFiles.
The mounted Volume should mounted under "Volume", is that right?
Really big thanks to all helpers and great Community here!

I have mine working under firmware 2.0. I believe the later firmware updates have blocked the use of USB Drives. I am a member of ATV4Windows.com (even though I have a mac) because there guides are fantastic and they have all the download files you need to create the Patchstick and to setup the USB Drive. I bought a 1.5TB My Book Pro and I have connected this to the back of my AppleTV it works a treat!
www.atv4windows.com You need to pay to become a member $15. But it is worth it. The admin is very dedicated and replies to all e-mails. (Sheesh after reading this I think they should pay me for advertising
). But seriously, thats how I got mine to work. I think they are working on a work around for the later firmware as it currently is blocked.
