Alright, I'm entirely new to jailbreaking, but my regular phone is going to be in service for a while so I'm switching over to an old iPhone. I jailbroke my 3GS using Absinte 2.0.4 and everything went smoothly. The only problem now is that I can't figure out how to get my T-Mobile service on it. I put the sim in the slot, it fit no problem, but I'm getting the SIM Failure error. I've tried resetting it, going into airplane mode, and powering off and back on along with taking the SIM card out and putting it back in a few times. Like I said, I'm super new to this. I'm sure there's an answer for this and I'm just not seeing it, but I could really use any help you're willing to give. Thanks!

edit. alright. I just put in ultasn0w. realizing that it was probably needed. But it just says Searching... instead of T-Mobile. Am I getting there?

Now you realize that Absinthe is only the Jailbreak..... so you are half way

Unlock and Jailbreak are two different things....

Please let us know what firmware is on your iPhone right now and what Baseband ?

ive got version 5.1.1 and modem firmware 06.15.00. I currently have that version of ultrasn0w installed, along with the ultrasn0w fixer for 5.1.1

As long as you use Ultrasn0w 1.2.7 you can UNLOCK
