Suggestions for HP Pavillion DV2940se?
I'm a total n00b on the subject, but I'm fascinated with the idea of running Leopard on this laptop and I'm curious which install dvd will provide the best driver support and ease of installation for this model. As stated in the title for this thread, my laptop is an HP Pavillion DV2940se. The specs are as follows.
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62
4 GB 533 mhz DDR2
320 GB Toshiba MK3252GSX SATA
Nvidia MCP67M chipset with Geforce 7150
Conexant HD SmartAudio 221
Ricoh Memory Stick Drive
Broadcom WLAN and BT
Nforce 10/100/1000 ethernet
I've just typed most of the relevant stuff that I've found in the Vista device manager here. If you need more info, I'll do what I can to provide. I'm basically interested in a 10.5.5 or .6 install DVD that will format the first partition and install Leopard where Vista is currently living. I have all my goodies backed up onto a seperate NTFS partition and I have a Vista restore partition as well, so I'm not interested in the installer wiping the whole disk into a single HFS partition, just the first one. I've tried osx86 a while back when it was something like 10.4.6 on my old desktop but back then there was no driver with acceleration for the nvidia card I had in it and my nic card didnt work so I gave up. I'm hoping that with this more modern hardware and the added maturation of the project, I'll have decent compatibility. Thanks in advance for any and all recommendations!
