Default unresponsive bottom half of screen

I dropped my phone and the bottom half of the screen (the most useful part) stopped working. I took it apart and discovered that one of the ribbons connecting the touch screen to the digitizer was broken. I ended up ordering a replacement touch screen / digitizer and recovered the phone. (The part cost me about $120 US.) Replacing it isn't that hard, but you have to be gentle and patient. There are videos that walk through the disassemble process. I'd recommend watching a few first. I also would get the tools suggested -- I did it with tools I had and ended up bending the aluminum case a bit.
