Make the switch. Within 1 month you'll be selling other Windows users to make the switch. I bought my first MacBook Pro 1 year ago. Now I have a 20" iMac, an iPhone, Airport Extreme and 4 iPods. I upgraded to Leopard the day it released and had a flawless conversion on both the MBP and iMac. I've never had a hickup and love the automatic software upgrades delivered by Apple. Total experience is a far cry from the 15 years of Microsoft challenges I've had.
I run Parallels with XP on the MBP and it's perfect. I only run three programs on Windows (Access, Money and a little utility I can't live without called eWallet) and switch over to IE when I run into a web site that dosn't support Safari (which has happened only 4 times in the last year). Windows and Leopard running on the same platform at the same time is an amazing experince. Clearly, the best of both words.
My home network is solid, stable and amazingly fun to interact with on the Mac platform. The OS is simple and quick to pick up. Even my wife (a weak Windows and technology user) loves the Mac and tells her friends how much better life is with the Mac than all the problems we had with Windows.
All in all, I won't go back and I was die hard Windows. You won't either once you get past the initial few questions. There are tons of resources, video training clips, and support sites to assist your transition.
Make the plunge and enjoy learning something new again. the foundation you have with Windows will make the switch easy and you'll be glad you did.
